Shane K. Bernard is an historian and son of the swamp pop musician Rod Bernard.  He is also a fine writer and historian; he literally wrote the book on swamp pop, Swamp Pop: Cajun and Creole Rhythm and Blues.  A recent posting to his blog, Bayou Teche Dispatches : A South Louisiana History Blog, was A Floating Dancehall on the Teche: The Club Sho Boat.  It’s a wonderful story, a floating dance hall rocking and rolling full of Cajuns dancing to the music.
