On Saturday, October 13 at 3:30 pm you can hear Cedric Watson (listen to lots of his music here) and Bijou Créole (= Creole jewels) at the Scène Ma Louisiane (Festival Stage) of the 2012 Festivals Acadiens et Créoles. Here he is playing “Pa Janvier,” also called “Donnez-moi Pauline.” It’s an unusual-sounding song; sounds like it’s in a minor key to me. That’s not something you get much in Cajun music, but compare the sound to the “Chanson de Mardi Gras” (“Mardi Gras song”).
