Gina Forsyth is an excellent violinist and singer.  She composes and records her own music, and also plays fiddle as part of the Bruce Daigrepont Cajun Band, appearing nearly every Sunday at Tipitina’s music club in New Orleans.  Here she is at the Festival International de Louisianne playing “J’ai ete au bal,” or “I went to the dance.”  It’s about a man who goes to the dance dressed all in black, and dances with all the pretty girls, and then goes back dressed in blue to do it all over again! It’s short but fun.  This one is usually done with an accordion lead, so solo violin is something different.
