Lee Benoit is not one of the best known musicians, but he’s got a solid accordion and vocal style. His wife plays bass, and I’ll bet that’s a daughter on drums. Don’t recognize the violinist. Lee is a former U.S. Marine and a paramedic in his day job. His first album was Lee Benoit avec Amis for the Crowley, LA-based MTE (or Master-Trak Enterprises, the long-time label), but I’m partial to his Live at Vermilionville. This performance is at Randol’s Restaurant in Lafayette, LA. Randol’s has Cajun music about every night of the week. The song is the Valse de Bayou Teche, one of my favorite tunes.
