Here are Gerard Delafose & the Zydeco Gators playing a waltz billed as Bye bye Moreau filmed at the 2012 Nuits Cajun & Zydeco of Saulieu, France.  Their MySpace page says they’re from Eunice, Louisiana.  The profile says: “My greatest influence is my grandfather John Delafose, my Uncle Geno and my grandmother Joanne Delafose.”   Waltzes are rare in zydeco these days, as are songs in French, so this is really welcome.  The festival is in early August, so this year’s is only a couple of weeks old.  Great to see videos posted already!  This isn’t the song Bonsoir, Moreau that many Creole musicians play, but it’s a lovely tune.  Their status is “unsigned” so you can’t rush out and buy a CD.  Do you own, guys!
