There’s a new official, state of Louisiana web site, Louisiana Soundtrack.  It entices us to come to Louisiana for music tourism.  It’s way past time to capitalize on this aspect of the state.  I’ve lived in New Orleans almost 40 years and it never ceases to amaze me how many people come here from other states and other countries just for the music.  The site has tabs for jazz, blues, Cajun, zydeco and country.  Each tab includes a list of festivals and venues and and one- or two-line blurbs on selected musicians and bands as “Biographies.”   Other features:  Nick Spitzer extolling the virtues of Geno Delafose, Feufollet and others, and a Pandora Louisiana music channel.  The list of the top 25 songs by Louisiana musicians is all over the map with traditional jazz, rhythm & blues, zydeco and Cajun.  Good going, gang!
