Ian McNulty is best known as a food critic for Gambit Magazine and other media outlets.  But he’s quickly gaining a reputation as a writer on culture.  His most recent book is Louisiana Rambles : Exploring America’s Cajun and Creole Heartland,  which covers the Cajun and Creole culture of south Louisiana.  Here’s a concise but penetrating look at nouveau zydeco musician Chris Ardoin, heir to the Ardoin Creole music family, a frequent Thursday night guest at New Orleans’ Rock ‘n’ Bowl nightclub.  Worth the read.
