It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy!  Bruce Daigrepont is the 2011 Festivals Acadiens et Créoles honoree.  Each year the festival chooses one musician to honor, which includes inclusion on their festival t-shirt.  As they say, Bruce has been the anchor for Cajun music in New Orleans since the late 1970s, first with the band, Bouree, at the Maple Leaf Bar, and later with his own band at Tipitina’s.  Bruce and band play nearly every Sunday night, except for Mardi Gras Sunday, Superbowl Sunday and when they’re away on tour.  Bruce is well known in Frencophone Canada, with bands covering songs he’s written.  And be sure to attend the 25th anniversary Fais Do Do in November at Tip’s!
