Molly Reid says that she grew up in Cajun country, learning Cajun dance in seventh-grade gym class. She describes her experience of Cajun dance as part of a cultural experience growing up that she came to take for granted as an adult. Bringing an out-of-town guest to Tipitina’s on a Sunday night for Bruce Daigrepont’s weekly fais do do provided the excuse to bring her experience up to date. And it was a “middle-aged gentleman” who put her through her paces on the dance floor, reminding her of what fun social dancing can be. Laissez les bon temps roulez!
