Accordionist and vocalist Geno Delafose has earned the 2011 Richard J. Catalon Sr. Creole Heritage Award.  The award is named after a carpenter and historian at the Vermilionville Folklife and Heritage Park, as part of Creole Culture Day.  Delafose is one of the few zydeco musicians who can sing in Creole French, which is different from, but related to, Cajun French.  The award was presented June 6, 2011.   Congratulations!
