The small but musical town of Mamou, Louisiana is host to a Cajun music festival this August 5-6, 2011.  The web site is a little incomplete.  I don’t know the Friday bands, but Saturday looks spectacular.   Of course, Jambalaya is an indispensable band, and Terry Huval is being honored this year.  Do not miss Corey McCauley if possible.  He does not play often, but is a fabulous musician.  His recording Play that thing, yeah, Jack! is an excellent example of spirited Cajun music.

Friday – August 5th:
6-8pm: Bonne Chance
8:15-11:30: Cajun Tradition

Saturday – August 6th:
9-11am: Bradley Veneable & Kick Back
11:15-1:45: Brandon Moreau et Pain Perdue
2:00-4:30pm – Terry Huval & Jambalya (2011 Honoree)
4:45-7:15: Corey McCauley & Evangeline Aces
7:30-11:00 – Kyle Huval & Dixie Club Ramblers
