The record high waters of the Mississippi and their diversion into the Atchafalaya floodplain looks to force the closing of McGee’s Landing and Angele’s Whiskey River Landing, a waterfront dance halls in Henderson, LA.   As the calendar on the Whiskey River Landing web site says:  “All performances cancelled until further notice . . . due to anticipated flooding. Hope to see you soon!”  Here’s the story from the Times of Acadiana.  Balfa Toujours’ excellent 2000 CD Live At The Whiskey River Landing was recorded there.  Our thoughts and best wishes go out to them and every one else in Cajun country affected by the flooding.  The Cajuns aren’t about to let a few feet of water get in their way!
