Bruce Daigrepont Cajun Band is New Orleans’ own Cajun ensemble.  Bruce is originally from Marksville, LA; he even plays a song about how the city was founded, the Marksville two step.  Bruce is not well known outside of Louisiana, except for French-speaking Canada.  He’s a great musician, playing all the old standards, but he’s also a very find songwriter, with many originals to his credit.  Last weekend at Festival International, the Canadian band Suroît played his song Disco et fais-do-do, about missing Cajun culture.  They’re playing an old Dennis McGee song.  Great video except for the woman in red standin gup in front of the camera at the end.
