The Blackpot Festival and Cookoff is set for Oct. 29-30, 2010.  It’s that *other* Cajun music festival in October.   It’s not free and is held at the Acadian Village in Lafayette, Louisiana.  Looks like it started about 2006 from their photo collection.  The music lineup looks terrific, starting Friday evening with Horace Trahan, who has a new CD out, and ending Saturday evening with the Red Stick Ramblers.   You’ll hear High Performance, the Pine Leaf Boys, and Feufollet.  From out of town there’s Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, and Eric & Suzy Thompson.  And camping is available, though the web site doesn’t give any details.  If only it weren’t so close to Festivals Acadiens et Creole!
