Hunter Hayes made a splash back around 2000. He was an under-ten year old accordion player and singer. Louisiana Red Hot Records put out his only CD, De mes yeux : Through my eyes (Louisiana Red Hot 1111) that year. He appeared on national television, playing with Hank Williams, Jr. Hayes is now 19 and has signed a contract with Atlantic Records, according to the country music web site Country Standard Time. Hayes has been living in Nashville, playing guitar and other instruments, but no mention of the accordion! The site erroneously refers to his upcoming “debut CD.”
And I’ve also got a note of another release on CD and cassette on Church Point’s Bee Records: Hunter Hayes and Young Friends. Musique des jeunes pour l’amour des vieux (Music by the young, for the love of the old). Bee Records. BEE 121-T. And the Louisiana Music Factory still has for sale another, country-oriented CD, Make A Wish, Sugartown 010, 2001. So that’s three recordings!
