The Jefferson [Parish] Performing Arts Society (JPAS) is staging “Petit Rouge: A Cajun Red Riding Hood,” a musical.  It begins Sept. 17 and continues through Oct. 3, in the Westwego Performing Arts Theater.  Story from NolaLive (scroll down for story).  It’s listed under the category “Theater for Young Audiences” so I presume it’s for children.  Says it’s “zydeco-charged” so that’s promising.   The JPAS site also says:  “JPAS is pleased to announce that a portion of opening weekend ticket sales (Sept 17-19) will be donated directly to Audubon Institute’s Louisiana Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Program to aid in their Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Response.”  So, take the kids, go have fun, and support a good cause.
