Texas Folklife says it “is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the unique cultures and living heritage of the Lone Star State.”  They held the twenty-first annual Accordion Kings and Queens Festival this past weekend, June 5, in Houston, Texas.   Over 6000 fans made it to hear the final rounds.  And the winner was Keyun Dickson, leader of the Zydeco Masters.  And he had plenty of competition, including Hispanic bands.  Joe Nick Patoski wrote up the competition and includes some photos on his blog, Notes and Musings.
