The late Roy Carrier appears in about 10 YouTube videos.  Here’s one that’s not high quality audio or video but made with much love.  Each band member is seen and Roy receives the most attention.  Roy belonged to the first generation of zydeco, with Clifton Chenier, Boozoo Chavis, Rockin’ Dopsie Sr, and Buckwheat Zydeco.  He played the easygoing, gently rocking style, not the high intensity, rock-and-roll style of many modern zydeco musicians, including his son, Chubby Carrier.  Of this generation, we have few left, including Willis Prudhomme and the underappreciated Creole Zydeco Farmers, who appeared at this year’s Jazz Fest.
