Roy Carrier died May 3, 2010 of a heart attack, according to his son, Chubby.   A wake and funeral have been held, with internment in Lawtell, LA.  Carrier was the owner of the Offshore Lounge in Lawtell, a well-known zydeco club.  Carrier was never a big name outside of Louisiana, but had a solid following.  He had at least four recordings still in print:
