The new book House of Hits by Roger Wood and Andy Bradley is a history of the record company Gold Star/SugarHill, out of Houston, Texas.   Gold Star is where Harry Choates recorded the ‘Cajun national anthem,’ “Jole blon.”  A short article in the Houston Press describes the book.   There’s an image of the cover of Choates’ LP, too.  Could be good reading; Bradley was an engineer for the label.
