There’s an intriguing education funding opportunity available to musicians in the Upper Midwest, the John Hugelen Cajun Music Scholarship Fund [PDF].  As the site says:

“The John Hugelen Cajun Music Scholarship Fund is a non-profit fund generated by the community of Cajun musicians and dancers to support aspiring Cajun musicians in the Upper Midwest. Its goal is to realize the long-standing wish of John and Sandy Hugelen to provide financial help to musicians who wish to immerse themselves in a unique Cajun music learning experience.”

The deadline is April 20, 2010, so get to it!  And thanks to the Krewe of Walleye for their generosity.  Cajun music belongs to the world, and here’s proof.
