The Anthology of American Folk Music is a massive project to document the various folk music strains in the United States originally released on LP in 1952.  It was put together by Harry Smith.  Over at the blog Where Dead Voices Gather, Alexander Stern is writing about each track, individually.  Most recently he wrote about Columbus Fruge’s performance of “Saut, Crapaud” or “Jump, Frog.”  (Crapaud is one of many Cajun words for frog.  Compare to ouaouaron for a bullfrog.)  It’s a nice background piece and includes a modern video of Cajun music.
