There is a wonderful extended advertisement/come-on for the Tommy Comeaux Endowed Chair.  It goes far beyond the usual academic job ads, which are booooooring (and I’m an academic).  It sings the praises of Lafayette and Louisiana, listing “community resources” and “regional resources,” even going as far as big, bad New Orleans.  Be sure to see the list of YouTube videos of Cajun, Creole and zydeco artists.  If I had any qualifications, I’d apply!  But, as they say:

The ideal candidate will:

  1. have a proven track record in scholarship, teaching, leadership, and fundraising;
  2. articulate a creative vision for the Center and its partnerships with artists and scholars; and
  3. foster and maintain collaborative relationships across the campus, the region, and the globe.
