There’s a great photo set of at this past weekend’s Gloucester Cajun & Zydeco Festival.  The British have been fascinated by Cajun and zydeco for decades.  Look at John Broven’s great book, South to Louisiana: The Music of the Cajun Bayous.  Then there’s the Ace Records label, which has released scads of great older Cajun music, mostly by license from La Louisianne and Swallow Records.  Though if you look for genres on their web site, you’ll have to select “Louisiana/New Orleans” to find them.  And their great compilations are nearly impossible to find, like Floyd’s Early Cajun Singles.
