Jimmy “C” Newman is a Cajun who made it big in country music.  He started in radio, went on to the Louisiana Hayride radio show in Shreveport, and went on to form his own band.  He recorded for RCA, La Louisianne, and Swallow Records.  Most of his career has been spent in Tennessee, and he’s appeared on the Grand Ole Opry.  The official Opry web site has a new, brief biography of Newman.  He recently performed in Lafayette at the Festival de Musique Acadienne in 2009.
