There’s a complimentary article on New Orleans-area fiddler Amanda Shaw on the web.  She’s quite a good fiddler, starting by studying classical music, then moving on to Cajun music.  Her repertoire has always included non-Cajun material, and some original music.  Lately she’s reached eighteen-years old and struck out in some definitely pop and rock directions, as in her latest album, Pretty Runs Out.  Note New Orleans heavy hitters like David Torkanowsky, Trombone Shorty, and Cranston Clements.  The album includes the French Jig, and McGee’s Medley, but it’s mostly pop.  Not bad, though.
