A new CD from the band Choupique, “Catch and release,” has arrived in the mail from the band. You can catch the band online at their official page or at MySpace.  On their own page the band is dressed in traditional Cajun Mardi Gras clothes, with their deliberately ragged fringe and tall, conical hats, called “capuchons.”  There’s also a solo accordion video of the song “Bon Whiskey.”  The choupique is a local fish and also the name of Nathan Abshire’s excellent “Choupique two step.”  The CD has 15 tracks of mostly classic songs with some originals.
